Rochas Okorocha Calls for Release of Nnamdi Kanu to Honor Ifeanyi Ubah.

Senator Rochas Okorocha has called on the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as a meaningful way to honor the memory of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Okorocha made the appeal during a night of tribute held on Monday, November 18, in honor of Ubah, who passed away in London on July 27. The late senator is set to be laid to rest on November 22.

Speaking at the event, Okorocha emphasized the significance of unity and rebuilding in the Southeast. He stated that releasing Kanu would allow the Igbo people to return home and focus on reorganizing and developing their communities.

Okorocha’s remarks have sparked discussions about the ongoing detention of the IPOB leader and its impact on the region. Nnamdi Kanu’s release has been a contentious issue, with various groups and individuals advocating for his freedom as a step toward reconciliation and peace in the Southeast.

The senator’s comments reflect the deep emotions surrounding the loss of Ubah and the broader issues affecting the Igbo people.
