Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg Meets with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire founder of Facebook and CEO of Meta, met with President Donald Trump on Wednesday at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
This meeting signals Zuckerberg’s growing connection with the president-elect as Trump prepares for his second term in office.
A Meta spokesperson confirmed the meeting, telling CNN:
“It’s an important time for the future of American innovation. Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration.”
The initial report of Zuckerberg’s presence at Mar-a-Lago was made by Politico. However, the details of their discussion remain unclear.
Zuckerberg has reportedly been in communication with Trump in recent months.
According to The New York Times, their interactions date back to before the election. Following the July assassination attempt on Trump, Zuckerberg praised the president’s resilience in an interview with Bloomberg, describing Trump’s defiance as “one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Despite their recent interactions, Trump has previously expressed suspicion toward Zuckerberg.
In a book released earlier this year, Trump accused the Meta CEO of “plotting” against him during the last election and issued a stark warning:
“If he does anything illegal during the 2024 Presidential Election, he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat.”
Stephen Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, confirmed the meeting during an interview with Fox News. Miller described Zuckerberg as being aligned with Trump’s vision for change, stating:
“He has been very clear about his desire to support and participate in the reform movement Donald Trump is leading, both in America and worldwide.”
As details of the meeting remain scarce, its implications for both Meta and the Trump administration could shape future conversations about technology and politics in the U.S.
