Man Arrested for Defiling, Impregnating Minor in Ogun.
A 28-year-old man, Samuel Ani, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in Sagamu.
The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday, November 13, around 2 p.m., when Ani was discovered in the act with the minor.
The arrest was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command, with the spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosing that Ani confessed to the crime during initial investigations. Odutola stated, “The suspect allegedly defiled the minor and is also accused of impregnating her. He has been arrested and detained by the command.”
The father of the victim, identified only as Paul, reported the incident to the local police division, prompting the swift apprehension of the suspect. Following the report, the victim was immediately taken to a hospital for medical examination to confirm the abuse and assess her condition.
The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) after the preliminary investigation is concluded to ensure a comprehensive follow-up and proper legal proceedings.
Odutola reiterated, “The matter will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department once the preliminary investigation is completed. In the meantime, the survivor has been taken to a hospital for medical examination.”
