Elon Musk Alleges Jeff Bezos Expected a Trump Loss and Advised Selling Stocks.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has stirred fresh controversy with a claim about Amazon chief Jeff Bezos following the U.S. election results.

Musk, who is poised to take on the role of co-chair in the proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Donald Trump’s second administration, alleged that Bezos had advised people to sell Tesla and SpaceX stocks, convinced that Trump would lose the election.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote, “Just learned tonight at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos was telling everyone that @realDonaldTrump would lose for sure, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock.”

Musk’s remark quickly drew widespread attention online.

Jeff Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post and aerospace company Blue Origin, has yet to respond to Musk’s claims. Following Trump’s unexpected victory, Bezos posted a congratulatory message on X, acknowledging the Republican leader’s political comeback.

“Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory. No nation has bigger opportunities. Wishing @realDonaldTrump all success in leading and uniting the America we all love,” Bezos wrote.

The Amazon CEO has been in the spotlight recently after The Washington Post announced it would no longer endorse presidential candidates, a decision that sparked debate about media bias.

In an op-ed defending the move, Bezos argued that presidential endorsements often create a “perception of bias” and questioned their influence on elections.

“No undecided voters in Pennsylvania are going to say, ‘I’m going with Newspaper A’s endorsement.’ None,” Bezos stated, emphasizing that eliminating endorsements was a principled decision to boost credibility.

As the dust settles from the U.S. election, Musk and Bezos appear to be steering their companies and public personas into an era of intensified scrutiny and debate.
