Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Move to England After Trump’s Victory.
American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, have reportedly left the United States and relocated to England following Donald Trump’s second presidential victory.
According to TMZ, the couple, who had been disillusioned with Trump’s win in the 2024 U.S. elections, decided to leave the country.
Sources with direct knowledge of the couple’s move confirmed that they have settled into a new home in the Cotswolds, located in the south-west of England, approximately two hours from London.
Although Ellen and Portia purchased the property prior to the election, they chose to make the move permanent after Trump’s victory earlier this month.
The source said they were “very disillusioned” by the outcome and felt compelled to “get the hell out.”
The move marks a potential permanent shift for the couple, as they have listed their Montecito, California home for sale. They had previously sold another mansion in the U.S. for $96 million.
The 66-year-old comedian and TV host will join other notable celebrities such as David and Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, and Kate Moss in the picturesque countryside of England.
Ellen and Portia were among the most vocal supporters of Trump’s main rival in the 2024 election, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Ellen had expressed her admiration for Harris, stating, “There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.” Ellen also contributed $3,300 to Harris’ campaign.
