Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his plans to celebrate his upcoming birthday on November 21 in a remarkable way.
The award-winning singer revealed that he will donate N300 million to various orphanages and a charity that focuses on preventing youth drug abuse and addiction.
Davido shared this news in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account earlier today. He mentioned that the details of the distribution will be disclosed soon.
This act of philanthropy is not new for the singer, as it echoes his previous birthday gesture in 2021, when his friends collectively gifted him N200 million. Davido added N50 million of his own funds and donated the entire N250 million to orphanages across Nigeria.
In his post, Davido wrote, “Once again, my birthday this year we’re donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m. Details to follow soon.”
